Saturday was our travel day. We started at 1:30 AM in Knoxville, TN and finally arrived in Eleuthera about 5:30 PM. One group had to fly into the southern air strip and catch a taxi to the camp. The first taxi driver wanted $1000.00 to give the group a ride. HA! Finally they found a driver who was much more reasonably priced; however, there was no place in the can for all the luggage. So it had to go in top. Next problem, no rope or tie-downs. So, all the guys removed their belts and used them to secure the luggage. Now that ingenuity.
Here are a few shots of our travel day, more photos can be found on Marc's facebook site.
See what we are up to
Welcome! We hope you enjoy this site and that it gives you a taste of what we are doing On Eleuthera Island. Eleuthera is one of the many Bahamian Islands and is located 255 miles east of Miami, FL.
We are working with Bahamas Methodist Habitat here on the Island. They are known for their caring hearts and desire to help those in need. We are glad to be here working with them, As we have updates and photos about our experiences, we will post them here.
As you enjoy our photos and updates, please pray for us and the people of Eleuthera. It is our greatest hope that above all else that Christ is made known to those we work with and in our own lives.
